The Reflection in the Hotel Athenee Bangkok

March 2018

I chose the 8-course menu with wine pairing.

Each course was a sensual pleasure. The wine pairing included two Thai wines from the Granmonte Winery in the Asoke Valley, about 170 km northeast of Bangkok. I did not know that Thailand produces wines at this level and appreciated that the restaurant presented these wines. My impressions of the visit of this winery and others in December 2018 can be found under this link.

The photo shows the Chenin Blanc. I could also taste the red wine from the Syrah grape from the same winery.

I enjoyed the evening in this restaurant as much as the previous one in the Savelberg Restaurant (Link), which is awarded a Michelin star. This restaurant deserves this award as well.

The invoice including the tip amounted to THB 5’649 (CHF 172, € 147, USD 181). An excellent price/quality ratio.
